Daniel Sheaffer, Secretary-General
Daniel is a senior at the College double-majoring in Public Policy and Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. This will be his fourth WMIDMUN and second time on Secretariat, and he could not be more excited to be taking the reigns this year. Daniel has had the privilege of studying abroad twice, once in Russia and once in Poland and hopes to have the chance to travel even more in the future. Outside of IR Club, Daniel can be found working as a research assistant in the Russian Department, working as a teacher's aide in the German Department, or watching the entirety of The Office for roughly the 20th time. He looks forward to meeting everyone and is so exited to get to play a role in making XVII the best conference ever!
Cassie Heyman-Schrum, Director-General
Cassie is a junior from Fairfax, Virginia. She is majoring in International Relations and Psychology. Joining International Relations club her freshman year, Cassie has thoroughly enjoyed traveling to conferences, staffing our own, and now being on secretariat for the second time for WMIDMUN XVII. Outside of IRC, Cassie is a member of the William and Mary Women’s chorus, and social chair of NKE, the music sorority on campus. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends, experimenting with new recipes, and reading. Cassie cannot wait to see what incredible experiences WMIDMUN XVII will bring!
Danielle Batterman, Chief of Staff
Danielle is a sophomore from Haddonfield, New Jersey majoring in Government and minoring in either European Studies or Psychology. Within the International Relations Club, she has served as a chair, director, and crisis staffer for various conferences, as well as continuing to serve as a member of its service branch, IRC Cares, and as its current UNA-USA Liaison. Outside of IRC, Danielle conducts research with W&M’s Political Psychology and International Relations lab, is a staff member/writer for the Acropolis Art Journal, has staffed the WM Global Film Festival, and studied abroad in Berlin this past summer. In her free time on campus, she enjoys any activity related to art or nature, spending all her money at Wawa, and petting dogs in Colonial Williamsburg. Danielle is thrilled to be a part of the WMIDMUN XVII Secretariat and hopes this conference will be an incredible experience for each and every delegate!
Vishaal Mittal, Director of Registration
Vishaal is a senior from Vienna, Virginia and is majoring in International Relations and Economics. Since joining the International Relations Club in his freshman year, he has staffed several William and Mary Model UN Conferences. This is his second time being on the WMIDMUN secretariat and is so excited to be part of this amazing team again. Outside of the club, Vishaal is a member of the South Asian Student Association and is a research assistant for AidData. Vishaal loves to spend his free time playing tennis and traveling. He is looking forward to welcoming all the delegates and sponsors to campus for another great conference!
Elizabeth Mitchell, Under Secretary-General for Regional Assemblies and Specialized Agencies
Elizabeth is a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is double majoring in Government and Economics here at the College. She joined the William and Mary International Relations Club as a freshman and has loved traveling to conferences, as well as being a director for WMIDMUN XVI. Outside of the International Relations Club, she is a member of the social sorority, Kappa Delta. In her free time, Elizabeth loves to spend time with friends and travel. Elizabeth is very excited to be part of the Secretariat for WMIDMUN XVII and can’t wait to welcome the delegates and sponsors to campus for a great conference!
Catie Brown, Under Secretary-General for General Assemblies
Catie is a freshman from Alexandria, Virginia. She is majoring in International Relations through William and Mary’s international honors program with St. Andrew’s. Outside of IRC, Catie is a member of the social sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and the William and Mary women’s club volleyball team. She also enjoys baking, watching movies, and hiking. Catie is extremely excited for her first year with WMIDMUN, and she cannot wait for the conference to begin!
Andrew Caietti, Under Secretary-General for Crisis Committees
Andrew is a sophomore from San Diego, California majoring in Economics and Chemistry. Having been involved with the International Relations Club since his freshman year, Andrew has traveled to conferences as well as staffed conferences at the college. Beyond IRC, Andrew is involved with Honor Council, Orientation, and Aviation Club at the college. He is working on getting his pilot’s license through the Aviation Club. Andrew is also involved with the social fraternity Delta Chi. Beyond college, he is an avid surfer, backpacker, and enjoys spending time with his friends. Andrew is beyond thrilled to welcome the delegates and sponsors to WMIDMUN XVII!
Raadhika Tandon, Director of Public Relations
Raadhika is a junior from Sydney, Australia, living in Malvern, Pennsylvania and majoring in International Relations. She joined the International Relations Club as a freshman, travelling on the college circuit and helping run William and Mary’s own conferences, both as a staffer and as a director. She also served as Director of Media on the secretariat for WMIDMUN XVI. Raadhika spent her past semester studying in DC while interning at an NGO but is thrilled to be back on campus with all her friends. Outside of WMIDMUN, she is part of the South Asian Students Association and can often be found chasing puppies around campus. She is so excited to spend another year working with her favourite conference and cannot wait to see how it turns out!
Rory Oates, Director of Conference Development
Rory, a sophomore at the College, is majoring in both Government and History. In addition to his involvement in the International Relations Club and WMIDMUN, Rory welcomes prospective students as a tour guide and incoming members of the Tribe as an Orientation Aide. He also serves on the Student Conduct Council, which reviews suspected violations of the William and Mary Code of Conduct. His other interests include running (and talking about running), reading fantasy novels (I will gladly discuss them with you), listening to alternative and Irish music, and eating. As a Baltimore native, Rory is a fan of crabs, Old Bay Seasoning, and the Orioles and Ravens. Most importantly, he is thrilled for WMIDMUN XVII and eager to develop this conference!
