We believe in the College’s tradition of public service. Founded in 2007, the IRCares Service Committee serves as our charity fundraising initiative. Each year, the initiative chooses a different NGO for which to raise money and awareness, both at our conferences and throughout the William & Mary community. At its founding, IRCares benefitted CARE, an organization that fights poverty by helping to empower women economically.

In later years, it supported the work of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and charity:water, which fight to increase access of quality medical care and clean water, respectively. In 2015, we supported the Building Goodness Foundation, an organization that facilitates construction projects in developing communities, and were able to partially fund the construction of a medical clinic in rural Ghana. And then this past year and this comping year we have supported International Justice Mission, an organization which seeks to improve the quality and fairness of justice systems around the world and defend individuals who do not have the means to defend themselves. This year we have yet to decide where our efforts will be focused.
